QURANIC SOCIETY OF MALAYSIA

The Quranic Society of Malaysia (QSM) was formed by a group of Malaysian Muslims on 11 June, 1995 at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur for the purpose of calling Muslims in Malaysia and throughout the world back to the teachings of God in His final scripture, the Quran. The Preamble of QSM’s Constitution proclaims that:

"We are convinced that it is imperative for Muslims in Malaysia and throughout the world to come forward to shoulder the burden of "the middle community" to lead mankind out of the present Dark Age into a new Renaissance." At the time of the collapse of two reigning ideologies and systems of the past seven decades, Islam will rise once again to take its rightful place in the life of humankind, as promised by God in the Quran. But the Islamic system that will replace these systems is the Islam based on God’s teachings that have been completed and perfected in the Quran.

"In order to achieve this lofty aim, we, the citizens of Malaysia, who are conscious of our responsibility, have come together to form this organization which we have named the Quranic Society of Malaysia."

"Although we call upon Muslims and all mankind to return to the teachings of the Quran, we are the rightful heirs of all civilizations and we inherit all that is best and good, in conformity with and not contradicting, the teachings of the Quran."

For reasons of legal hindrance, QSM has not been able to as active as other organizations since its inception. For the last two years and more, its activities have been limited to having small discussion groups studying the teachings of Islam based on the Quran, to publishing occasional articles in local newspapers and magazines as well as to producing irregular pamphlets. On this web page, we shall publish our activities as well as some of our more important documents.

We shall also be re-publishing our bi-monthly bulletin Iqra’ and occasional pamphlets.
